April Events

We finished the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory group projects today and they look fantastic!! It was a great week of cooperation, creativity, and compromise to produce great projects.

On Monday, we will start back with Wordly Wise, beginning with Lesson 17. Due to the Aquarium trip on Friday, we will have the spelling test over the words and verse on Thursday, April 19.

Information regarding the field trip to the Georgia Aquarium next Friday is in your child's signed paper folder. We are really looking forward to this fun day. **Parking Directions are on the back!!!***

   This Friday and next Friday, March 23 and 30, we will have picnic lunches. Students should bring a lunch, a drink, and a towel with them to school on those mornings.

    Just for your information, next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, Mrs. Ford will be on the 6th grade trip with her son. If you have something that needs immediate attention, please email Mrs. Crumbley.

    Mrs. Moncrief would like fourth graders to make terrariums next week. Students need to bring in an empty, clean, 2-liter bottle with cap, and the label removed by next Tuesday. Write your child's name near the bottom of the bottle with a Sharpie.

    We still have many students that have not turned in the permission slip portion of the Jump Rope for Heart information packet that went home a couple of weeks ago. Your child does not have to turn in money to participate; however, he/she must turn in a permission slip in order to participate in the afternoon activities on the track.

Reminders

ITBS testing begins promptly on Monday morning. Please be sure your child gets a good night's sleep and a nutritious breakfast.  Some students brought pencils, but they were not labeled as #2. Pencils must have a #2 on the pencil itself. We will be testing Monday through Thursday.

Report cards are in Friday Folders. This is your copy, and it does not need to be signed and returned. Please note that absences/tardies for first and second quarter are listed as 0. These absences/tardies have not been put into the system, but they will be added before the 4th quarter report card is issued.

Students were given a copy of the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory today. It must be read by Tuesday, April 10.

Don't forget: Explorer research information is due on Monday. Your student will need it for a project next week which will be completed in class.

Reminders for Next Week

First of all, thank you so much for the support you showed TSA through the making of class projects, yummy treats baked, tuition raffle tickets bought, and attendance at the auction. It was very successful and we owe it to you, our parents!

Today, Friday, March 9, is the last day of the third quarter. Monday begins our last quarter with your children. It has really flown by fast!!

It's almost time for ITBS. In preparation for testing, we will be bubbling in identifying information on the answer folder. In order to do that, your child will need to bring three sharpened #2 pencils to school by Thursday, March 15. 

There is a Language Test Alert in today's signed paper folder. The test is Wednesday, March 14.

Please look through your child's Friday Folder thoroughly.  There is important information about Thursday's Dress Down Day, Earth Day t-shirts, and Jump Rope for Heart! 

Our last Open House of the season is this Sunday, March 4, and 2:00. Please invite your friends and family to check out TSA! 

ITBS testing is scheduled for the week of March 19-23.

Our St. Patrick's Day celebration will be Friday afternoon, March 16, at the end of the day.

Mrs. Crumbley and Mrs. Ford will plan the Easter Eggstravaganza for the morning of March 30. It will be here at school. If we need you to send in anything, we'll let you know. This is one event we really enjoy planning for the students! 

Jump Rope for Heart will be the afternoon of March 30th.
