News and Reminders

Community service: 
   Do not forget that all students are required to complete community service hours.  Fourth graders should do five hours. Forms for this are on the school's website under forms and publications. With less than six weeks left, we know you want to complete this and get it turned in to usThis is another way our Tattnall family can show a servant's heart! Thank you!


On Monday and Friday next week your child will need a picnic lunch and drink.

Field Day is Friday, April 26. Please plan to send at least one water bottle with your child's name on it to school that morning. We will have a cooler available for students to put their bottles. Festivities begin at 9:00. We hope to see you there.

News and Reminders

  • Students must be finished reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Monday, April 8. The AR test must be completed by Friday, April 12.
  • ITBS testing is next week. Your child needs 2 pencils for this test. They MUST have "#2" stamped on them. Please encourage your child to take this test seriously~While it does not count as a grade, this test is used in our planning for curriculum. Testing will begin promptly after the morning announcements. A good night's sleep and a nourishing breakfast are important each day. We will provide a snack mid-way through each morning's scheduled tests. Your child may bring a bottle of water to have during the snack time.
  • Field Day is Friday, April 26. If you printed out a lunch menu, you may have noticed that it is listed on the menu on the wrong day. A form concerning field day is in your child's folder. It is both a permission slip and an order form for a t-shirts. Please note that next Friday, April 12, is the deadline for turning in the form and the money. 
  • Re-enrollment forms are due by Monday, April 15. Please get these in ASAP. It is $100 per student until that date and then $150 per student after that date.

News and Reminders

In Friday Folders you will find:
  • Your child's report card if you did not attend a conference. It is yours to keep; it does not need to be signed and returned. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
  • A letter about receiving emails concerning your child's AR quiz scores. 
  • Re-enrollment forms...please send back one completed form for your family as soon as possible
Mrs. Cheek has collected all items turned in as lost from the various locations around the school. They are in her office. If your child has lost anything this school year, please check with her before Friday, March 22. That afternoon, all remaining unclaimed items will be donated to charity.

News and Reminders

Re-enrollment forms and fees for the 2013-2014 school year are due by April 15. After April 15, the re-enrollment fee per child will increase.

Language ~ Ch. 31 and 32 ~ Tuesday, March 12
Social Studies ~ Ch. 2 ~ Thursday, March 14 
 
On Tuesday, March 12th, Trojan Legion will host the Elementary Spring Musical with a special presentation to begin promptly at 6 p.m. Students should be here at 6, dressed and ready to go on stage.

Friday, March 15th is a Spirit Dress Down Day to benefit various Mission Trips. Andie Hamlin will be traveling to Haiti and Sarah Oxford will travel to Honduras. Students, faculty, and staff may dress down for a $1.00 donation.

The Red Cross Blood Drive is Friday, March 15 from 8:30 – 2:00 in the Multi-Purpose Room. Anyone interested in donating blood may sign up in Ms. Neufeld’s room, 202.

Trojan Legion is continuing the school wide challenge to collect Box Tops for Education. This campaign has raised $1,032.70 to date, and we still have 2 weeks left to collect! The homeroom with the most Box Tops collected between now and March 15 will win a free pizza party for the students and a $50 gift card for the teacher! Winners will be announced before we leave for Spring Break. Sheets to paste Box Tops on can be found at http://www.boxtopsforeducation.com/. Games are also available on this website. When a family registers online, Tattnall automatically receives free points.

Tattnall will host a community wide (All Grades) Open House Sunday, March 10th at 2 p.m. Be sure to check your child's Friday Folder for information to share about Open House. As an added incentive to help promote TSA and our Open House, students and parents who make contact with an Open House attendee will receive the following:
  • Students who make contact with an Open House attendee will receive a free dessert coupon from the TSA Cafe. *One coupon per Open House.
  • Parents who make contact with an Open House attendee will be entered (one entry per family attending) to win a gift certificate to the Spirit Shop. 

Calendar changes for next year
Homecoming Week will be the week of September 30-October 4.
Grandparents' Day will be October 11.
